MSA Elections Results Statement 2024

Dear MSA members,

Now that the elections have closed and the votes have been counted, we are happy to announce the results.

  • Ann Rigney (Professor of Comparative Literature at Utrecht University and founder of the Utrecht Forum for Memory Studies) has been elected to the position of President-Elect.

The following colleagues have been elected as members of the Executive Committee:

  • Daniel Levy (Professor of Sociology at Stony Brook University).
  • Ulla Savolainen (University Lecturer, Department of Cultures at University of Helsinki).

The following colleagues have been elected as members of the Ethics Committee:

  • Guido Bartolini (FWO Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at Ghent University).
  • Estibalitz Ezkerra (ACLS Emerging Voices Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies at Arizona State University).
  • Kaitlin M. Murphy (Associate Professor of Social, Cultural, and Critical Theory and Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona, as well as affiliate faculty in the School of Art and the Human Rights Practice Program).

The following colleagues have been elected as members of the Financial Committee:

  • Ela Rossmiller (Assistant Professor of Political Science and Global Studies at Wilson College).
  • Hanna Teichler (Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of English and American Studies at Goethe University, Frankfurt).

The tenure of the new Executive body will begin on July 18th, 2024.

We congratulate these colleagues on their election and thank them for their willingness to serve the MSA community.

We also thank all those who were willing to run as candidates in the election, as well as all the MSA members who cast their vote.
